Shame on me!

I apologize for the lack of posting this week. Things have been crazy and I've been sick. Where should I begin...

My mother's sweet weenie dog, Tinker, ruptured a disc in her back last weekend and we had to take her to the emergency surgery center in Dallas, where she spent half of the week. She is home now and we have seen improvement daily. The poor thing is shaved from shoulders to hips, but she is happy to be feeling better.

I have been knitting. It was really fun working on these while riding in the boat at the lake. I had cast on another toe-up sock. This time I am using the yarn frogged from my UN-happy Socks. This time they will fit because I am trying them on every chance that I get!! I'm also using my standard US2 sock pattern that I know fits my feet!! I really love this colorway and this yarn... Sadly, it has been discontinued.

I also cast on (MY FIRST PICOT CAST-ON, yay!) for a dress for my 60cm Obitsu, Nymphadora, that should be arriving next week!!! EEK!! I had enough in my Paypal to get her started!! Her custom face-up is complete and now I am just waiting for her to arrive!!

SHE IS GORGEOUS! I have seen her full face-up, but I don't want to reveal it until she arrives! If you can't wait, you can see her on my Flickr. After seeing this mask, I just might have buy it! I just have to wait until my Ebay auctions end and I get some more $$. But, a wig has to come first! hahaha! She might be bald for a couple of weeks, like Yuna was! I'll just make her a yarny-wig.

And I realized that I have failed to introduce Chinmoku! She is a 27cm Obitsu and she is from A-Kon! Her name means 'silence' in Japanese. I had planned just to buy her body and then I found a head that I liked. I thought about giving her a face, but then I saw the charm and innocence that her unpainted face has. In the future I may give her a face, but she really doesn't need it!

ONE MORE THING!! I really need to knit something for Project Spectrum! I have less than a week left for this color set!!! SHAME ON ME!! I bet I can whip out another dollie dress on the USM.

Before this show had come over, I had downloaded it but never watched it. So far it is really good!! BBC America is running the whole first season tonight. It is a shame that there were only two seasons total.

Back to the swatch!!

Run for the border!!!

I finished Kia Kia's border last night. Eventhough the pattern called for it, I felt horrible for dropping the center stitch all the way down... 800 stitches. It looks really cool, but I still got that sick feeling like I was doing something wrong!!! BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!

While I was at work today, I had time to sew the ends together, pick up 400 stitches, and work the first round of the body.

From what I can tell, the rest of this is knit all in one piece. No more seaming, just picking up stitches if I decide to improvise some sleeves.

I'm off to enjoy the rain and play with some yarn!!

Oh! Amy! That is Erik's nephew, the one-boy sand castle demolition expert!

Nascar Knitting Update!

Only a little knitting here. I cast on and finished this square last week. If it wasn't for the rain delay, it wouldn't have been blocked by the time the green flag waved!!

Also, here is a knifty Project Spectrum pic. It is the ends that I have trimmed off of my next sampler afghan square. Pink... Green... Yellow...

I found these in Target's dollar section!! The apple is see-thru and they had a few different ones!! They aren't dishwasher or microwave safe. But, for a buck, who could pass these up!?!

Oh!! And they are even Project Spectrum colors!!!!

Score! My new rice cooker from Target! It was only $15!!! Now I can really make me some sushi!! Here come the cucumber rolls!!

I also picked up the rolling mats and soy sauce (that I had forgotten) at Market Street, yesterday. LoL

AND... Majikku is almost finished. All I need now is her wig and outfit to arrive from Singapore or Hong Kong!! I can't wait to post the completed pics!!!

Sampler Afghan Square #06 - WIP

Its been a while since I have worked on any squares!! LoL This pattern is from the Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns. The stitch pattern is called Gentle Curves and it is on page 248.

With a simple 14 + 1 stitch repeat, I have cast on 49 stitches. This includes a 3 stitch border on each side.

The photo doesn't really show the detail, but blocking should help that!

I had a busy evening!! LoL It really started yesterday, when Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby. They were having a sale on knitting notions. Did you know that they sell individual pieces to the Needlemaster?? Yesterday, I went to Joanns with my stock-piled coupons. This is what happens when coupons overlap by a day AND you have signed up to receive the ads & coupons at home and at work! he he he I picked up beads and thread for the Emerald Beaded Bracelet from this month's MagKnits. I also scored Sensational Knitted Socks and I got to use a 50% off coupon on it!! YAY!!

When I got home, I decided to finish the NES-DS Cozy. It turned out perfect!! This was a very simple finish. I just knit a plain back in the light gray and then seamed it all up! So easy!! Even Erik said, “WOW!” It fits perfect!! As I was putting the left over yarn away, I started to clean up the craft room. It was a disaster area. I should have had hazard signs posted!!! LoL This led to frogging MK Tubey II. It has been sitting on the machine in the same, unfinished state for a year. Sadly, it was time.

Since it was really cold this week, I figured that I would make one more attempt at a dog sweater. YAY!! I'm 2 for 5 (at least).

The funny thing is, it also goes with Project Spectrum, which wasn't what I intended!!

It is also a Grey's KAL project. I finished it while I was watching this weeks episode (on Tivo) this morning. All I'm going to say is that I woke up Erik by shouting four-letter-words at the TV. LoL

Doesn't it look really good on him!!! Now I need to make one for Rocky. I think I will use the same pattern. It is another one from KNITTING FOR DOGS.

We also had DAS, Mikey, and Muffin over to play with the Wii!!

I'm back from the cruise!!! We had so, so, so much fun!!! I am working on another scrapbook (like the Vegas one), so I should have some of the excitement up really soon.

I took some Project Spectrum pictures while I was on the trip. Here is a small slideshow of the PS pics that I took!!!

Knitting really didn't happen while I was on the cruise. A few rows of an afghan square and an increase row or two on a sock and that was about it!! LoL

I really can't wait to get the scrapbook together. I will post each page as I get it finished!!!

AMY ~~ Yes, I am still over 1 month without a smokie!! Yay!!! GO COLTS!!

Christina ~~ I need to look up my Wii code (again). I really wish that they would make things easier like Xbox Live. I think I will post my Wii code on here, also, so my readers can add me!!

Little Knitting

I broke down and knit some little socks and leg warmers for the dollies and they are really, REALLY cute!!!

I went on a sock yarn binge yesterday because of them. I am seriously considering selling them.

I can't decide which are my favorite!! I really like the pink striped socks, but I also luv-luv-luv the leg warmers on the right!!
Perez really likes her gray ones. These are socks that started everything. It doesn't hurt that they are a current Project Spectrum color.

Utena is getting excited about the cruise. She has already packed her bags and has them waiting in the living room. She hopes that she brought enough clothes.

The other girls really aren't that jealous. They don't want to fall overboard!!!
