[grin]

What is this wet stuff falling from the sky?? I haven't seen anything like this in a month!! Shame it only lasted for about 10 minutes. There's a chance today, also... but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I finished the back of Codi!! It is beautiful!! The KnitPicks ShineWorsted is perfect! The stitch definition... The color... YUMMY-NESS!!!!

Last night, I also cast on the left front. After I finished the bottom ribbing once, I realized that I did it in the wrong needle size! Oh no!! So I persuaded Erik to watch one more episode of Battlestar Galactica while I reknit the bottom ribbing. Such is a sacrifice for love!!

OH!! And I used my powers of persuasion to get Jenn of Fort Worth Fiber Arts (aka SnB Fort Worth) to hook-it-up with a SWAP!!! I can't wait!! I have a tub full, all ready to go. I'm sure that half will end up going to charity, but that is ok. I do have some good stuff to swap, too! Like, some recycled silk sari yarn... Maybe some sock yarn (if I can part with it)!!

Tired....

I'm tired. I didn't get to go to SnB (Arlington) this weekend because the washing machine decided to flood my garage. I didn't get to go to Snb (Fort Worth) last night because I felt like crapola. Mom gave me her sinus junk and now I feel like I just can't wake up. WAAAA!!!

Enough whining. I really haven't touched my Jaywalkers since I started the Baby Brother Blanket. BUT... I did start a girly version of the BBB in pink on the USM #2 (at the DBF's). Sorry no pictures yet. I keep forgetting the camera. MK Tubey 2 is still on the USM #1 (at home). It hasn't changed much since January/February. Maybe I'll work on that later this week (probably not, but a girl can hope).

The Baby Brother Blanket (green) is inching along. I did get to work on it for several hours in Sunday...at home and not at SnB. The Girly Baby Blanket is for someone that probably doesn't read my blog, but I would rather be on the safe side. Her daddy (one of my best friends) gives me a hard time about knitting. That is why he didn't receive any handknits for Christmas, but his daughter does deserve something, and I had a lot of pink Simply Soft, so she is getting the Girly Baby Blanket.

I plan on hand knitting a border on the machine produced Fan & Feather blanket. I did some searching and found this (for my reference, and yours) BOND USM KEYPLATE / KNITTING NEEDLE SIZE CHART. I'm using KP4, so it is fairly loose and I wanted a needle size suggestion. Eventhough it says to use size US 8-9 with KP4, I'm going to go ahead and us a US 10 for the border. Hopefully it will keep it from curling and give a little bit of a ruffle.

Meetup, yarn, and a new pattern booklet!!

I went to Meetup last night and had a ton of fun!! Knit Angel and I made a little swap. She gave me 4 balls of the Sassy Stripes that I love in Polo and Crayon and I gave her all of the dishcloth cotton that I had. My hands just couldn't handle the stuff. I knit continental and it would leave a raw spot on my finger and I couldn't knit for a day or so. So she got it since she is on a dishcloth kick right now, and I would rather make a swap than just buying it off of her anyways.

I also bought a new pattern booklet. It is the Berroco #244 booklet. I received my Patternworks catalog yesterday and it was in there. Of course, I would rather give business to my LYS's than wait for shipping, so I asked Miss Wanda if she has this one in stock, and sure enough, she did!! I just want to make Codi (the cover pattern). I have another one of these long cardigans and I love it, so I figured I could make my own!

I don't think I am going to use the yarn that is called for. Instead, I think I am going to use KnitPicks Shine Worsted, the same yarn that I sent my SP7, Katie.

Colors I'm thinking of using:I like them all, so maybe over time I will make them all, who knows. I'm off to go do work stuff now. YUK! I just keep reminding myself, I will be in Galveston until Tuesday!!

Fun! Fun! (Hey! A knitting post!)

I went to SnB Fort Worth last night! We had so much fun! I think there were at least 6 of us there, which was so cool! I wish I could get 6 people together (at the same time) for the HEB & Arlington SnB's. I think the hot weather and the free a/c did it!

So many projects were going on!! I got two rows shy of my goal while I was there and only forgot one increase in between all the talking and laughing. Erik's Jaywalker #2 might be finished before the end of summer after all!!

Some other stuff...
I saw this on...um....Yarn Yenta!! It is called Grow Cube. Pretty cool, I think I've got the hang of it, but I have a long way to go. It is an online Flash game that is fun and makes you think!

OH!!!! They are started inducing my dad's wife last night!! My little brother will be here TODAY!!! It sucks because I can't make it out there until this weekend. Erik and I are going to leave Friday and come back Saturday or Sunday, depending on how hectic it is around the house. Tammie's family will be there, so there will be a house-full.

Free to Stitch! Free to Bitch!!

I feel so bad for the people getting trampled on by SFSE. Poor Jenn, who runs the Fort Worth Knits Yahoo group, is still getting letters about her SnB afflilation. She has moved the group HERE, to Blogger. Just send her an email and see will add you to the group if you want to join.

I am planning on moving the Tarrant County Knitworking group, also, before they decide to delete it too. I haven't received any letters or emails from Yahoo or SFSE, yet, but I would rather be moved before they delete my group without notice. Of course, I will let my listers know when I make the decision.

Evil bookstore!!! Not really..

I cast on, knit and got half the ribbing completed on the first body piece of MK Tubey II yesterday afternoon. Let me just say that ribbing on the Bond is a little bit of a pain in the....back. The machine only knits stockinette (or reverses stockinette). You then have to intentionally drop the stitch that you want ribbed and then latch it up manually. Now I know why the Bond ribbers are selling for $900 on eBay!!!

I also went to the group formery known as Fort Worth Stitch N Bitch (now FWKnits) last night! I had a ton of fun!! I even got to touch and downright fondle a complete Jaywalker sock!! Only three of us there, but we knew we were the coolest ones in the restaurant because we all had 'cool' black glasses on!! LoL Can't wait to see you girls again!!

AND I decided I had to change the name of the Tarrant County group, just in case Yahoo decided to delete it with no notice because of the SnB 'scandal'. It is now Tarrant County Knitworking. Get it? Knitworking = networking?? Aren't I do clever!! LoL

Oh!! The evil bookstore?!?! I popped in to Barnes & Noble this morning to get SnB Nation. Well, I walked out with 'SnB Nation', Yarn Harlot's 'The Secret Life of a Knitter', and 'The Knitting Answer Book'. That is why they are evil!! They have such a great selection of books that I don't have yet!!!! Maybe that isn't such a bad thing, after all.

You know, I have never thought about why I read knit-blogs until Eunny posted this. I'm not much for blog-drama either. The reason that I love to read knit-blogs is because I L-O-V-E the inspiration that they give me! I can go to someone's secret little knitting space and see what they have finished this week or see how they fixed a mistake or even conquered their first sock!! I also love to see what other Secret Pals have gotten!!

Everyone please keep posting and making my life a little more colorful and my knitting inspired!!

No pictures, please.

I have successfully completed one sock!!! I finished it last night!! My DBF was too busy doing homework to enjoy my one-socked happy dance around the house. Oh well. I'm not going to take another picture of my socks until both are finished.

I have SnB today and Michaels is having their 5-hour Yarn Event!! Lucky for us, Michaels is right next door to Starbucks, which is where the HEB SnB meets!! Must go prepare!!!

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

I washed my DBF's dogs (really his brother's dogs) and took them to get their shots today. Then we took Winston, the whiny basset, to my DBF's brother's house. Both are his, but Rocky doesn't like children, so he will stay here with Ed.

Later, I went to the HEB SnB. Kelly was there!! I finally got to give her the stitch markers. She also had so super cute ones that she had made!!! A new face was there also!! Very sweet!! Forgive me, as I am terrible with names!!!!!

VENTING: Its not fair that Rhinebeck in is NY. I asked Ed if we could fly up there for the weekend, but he said that we are already going to Vegas for New Years and he wanted the new Xbox 360. It was more of a fake question anyways. At least we have a the DFW Fiber Fest coming in April.

CAUTION! Another potential project! Mom and I were at Dillards shopping on Friday and we say this really cute knit hat. It was like you typical knit hat with the pom-pom, but it also had a built in scarf coming down like really long ears!!! So, so, so soft and pink! Then we looked at the price tag. $150!!!!!! I can make that for under $30!!! Maybe that is something for my Kool Aid yarn?!?! It looks like you knit the scarf pieces first and then.... Crap, I can't explain it. Maybe I can draw it in paint. Hmmmmm.....

SnB is a dangerous place...

For my wallet!!! We met at the Arlington B&N. Also had to start a new group for us "Arlington" folks. I figured we could just sum it us as a Tarrant County group. Here's the link!!
Back to the danger of SnB!! A little book-stash enhancement... As soon as a brought home At Knit's End, I couldn't put if down. Very, very funny... As Karen from Will & Grace would say, "That's funny, cuz its true". SORRY Secrel Pal!!! If you ended up getting this book, keep it!! It is great!!!! A perfect bathroom book that you will end up taking into the living room and to class.

I also brought home Odd Ball Knitting. I have a strange feeling hat I am going to have several 'oddballs' laying in my craft room, so this is an investment. There are a few projects I like, but I don't want to buy any more yarn yet. I will have to wait until I finish some other projects first so I have some yarny-leftovers.

SnB Fun!!!

Went to my first Stitch n Bitch get-together today!! So much fun!! Can't wait until the next one... This lovely groups of ladies organized this meetup as an off-shoot of the main Ft Worth SnB. There are some of us that couldn't meet on a Tuesday evening for some reason or another, so we met today at 2:30 in the Arlington Barnes & Noble. Come to find out, PJ's blog is listed right after mine in the Texas Knitters ring!! LoL

The girls also kindly directed me to Target where they have a bunch of fun little knitting items in their $1 deals area!!! I got a few things, as you can see. LoL

Each of the little books has 4 patterns in them. The covers tell you what kind of yarn they were designed for!! FuN!!!

Since I finished the Fingerless Gloves, I needed something to work on for SnB today, so I started one of the Head-Kerchiefs for my DBF's sister's Christmas present. It is really turning out to be very lovely. I plan on making a couple more for her and my best bud, Robyn. (Shhhhh.... Don't tell her, it is a secret...)
