New Headboard (1)

Tonight, I started and finished a new head board. I've been wanting to do this project for a while, I've just been too lazy to go and get the wood cut. Well, I finally did it today and then went to Joann to spend the rest of my birthday gift cards!

I started at 5pm by drilling the holes and getting everything ready. While the fabric was in the wash, I cooked dinner for Erik and his friend Dave. When the dishes were done, the fabric was dry and I started stapling and improvising the buttons. After a trip to WalMart for longer screws, I had a fantastic and finished, fancy new headboard by 9pm! Even Erik couldn't believe how nice it turned out!

PATTERN: Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts: Upholstery Covered Headboard

If you look closely, you will see some pressboard hanging above the new headboard. That was leftover and I have something special planned for it. That fabric is in the dryer, waiting to have a pattern transferred onto it.

Oo, is that like a faux suede or something - it looks very soft and squishy - great job on it!
